Europe or bust02 June 2010
Day 1: Journey to Chicago - Wednesday, June 2nd
It's 2:25 a.m. We're heading to the airport around 10 a.m.
Holly and I are just finishing packing 22 lbs of our lives into what once seemed like spacious packs. Turns out 48 liters is a hell of a lot smaller than we anticipated.
We've packed and repacked a few dozen times, eliminating anything and everything we think we should sacrifice for seven straight weeks. It was either the jacket or the hairdryer, and we're not walking around Europe like clowns (thanks to the current 80 degrees, and rising, weather in Europe). We'd rather freeze, which led us to keep the hairdryer. Duh.
With plenty left to check off on our to-do lists, we'll be up in a few hours to tie up loose ends. Wish us luck. No, don't wish us luck because it shouldn't take luck to fly an airplane. We hate flying.
Feel free to provide any suggestions of things to do while in an airport for three freaking hours. We've already researched 500 things to do with floss. You'd be surprised what you can accomplish with a little, minty string.
Slán go fóill (bye for now!)
